Hartford commercial permit COM-ALT-24-000201 (Commercial Alteration Permit): Demo existing drop ceiling in the front ,middle & side room on the 1st fl. Reframe all ceilings in each room back to the height of the previous drop ceiling level (9’). Reframe each ceiling with 2”x12’and 2”x8”x16’. Plate the ceiling perimeter with 2”x8’ regular lumber. Secure ceiling joist with 3”-1/2in framing nail. Secure ceiling joist with 2”x8’ joist hanger & 1-1/2 -2-11/2 hanger screws. In 2”x 6”x12’ across the top of the 2” x 8” ceiling joist in each room to maintain a level ceiling. Add 3 vertical 2”x4’ vertical straps tied to the 2x6 on top in each room to prevent sagging. Add blocking between ceiling joists where it is needed every 6ft. Install double layer of 5/8 fire rated type X gypsum Wallboard with in l- 5/8 and 2-1/2 drywall screw. Mud & tape both layers of sheetrock. Fire cork & blockout any openings in the original ceiling above. Install fire rated can less integrated recessed light.. 16 NEW PARK AV, HARTFORD, CT 06106.
