Hartford commercial permit COM-ALT-25-000279 (Commercial Alteration Permit): Water from open balcony is backing up into apartment due to lack of pitch to exterior knee wall. We will be raising the door from the apartment to the balcony by approximately 2" so that the balcony decking can be raised by 2" along the exterior wall to create a proper pitch toward the exterior knee wall. This will create a small step up from the apartment onto the balcony. According to the framing plans this is not a load bearing wall so the framing above the door will be notched in order to raise the door. On the exterior, only the trim will be disturbed. A new scupper drain will be centered and installed on the exterior knee wall. The existing duradek membrane and substrate material will be removed from the balcony. New 5/8" plywood will be installed with a minimum pitch of 1" over 4' and duradek vinyl membrane will be replaced. See attached photos and plans for details.. 41 ARCH ST, HARTFORD, CT 06103.
