Mecklenburg County commercial permit B4732446: Refer to the permit #B4664806 for address 5704 Sloping Oaks Road Charlotte NC 28212 We are taking siding off and replacing siding. We are not touching the existing weatherproofing system that is in place simply like for like siding. We spoke with William, Grady and Allen the field inspector in acquiring the first permit. Since we are not changing the existing weatherproofing system and the Department of Insurance has removed the sheathing inspection from the inspector's responsibility and made it the responsibility of the General Contractor, there is no weatherproofing documentation to provide. Allen has looked at the buildings and the existing sheathing system was approved when it was installed and as long as we do not disturb the sheathing there is no requirement for a weatherproofing detail nor any compliance. It is existing and will not be changed. If we have to change sheathing because of damage, we will have to get a framing inspection, but we do not anticipate any changes to the existing sheathing or weatherproofing system.
