The addition is a two-story steel framed structure, with masonry walls and consists of a two-level high Parish hall, gathering area, catering kitchen, youth center, restrooms and other supporting spaces and utility areas. It is structurally separated from all existing construction by means of expansion and isolation joints. The floor structure is to be concrete slab on composite metal deck over structural steel framing. An accessible route consisting of an open breezeway on the main level and an enclosed gallery on the upper level, connects the existing building with the new and a landscaped courtyard in between. The building will be provided with new lighting, windows, casework, finishes, kitchen equipment, sprinkler system, fire alarm, plumbing and HVAC systems. Minor interior renovations including room painting, repairs and new finishes without reconfiguring spaces or change in use. The budgetary pricing shall include all work and materials necessary as outlined by this narrative. Appropriate allowances shall be made for work and items not defined in this document including, but not limited to, unknown subsurface conditions and unexpected existing conditions.
