Project overview
Vermont Act 250 application 7C1412 (Major, Ryegate): Heat from the Ryegate Biomass Power Station will be recovered and used to serve a drying system, which will dry wood chips, the majority of which will then be processed on-site into wood pellets (“Project”). The Project will be accessed from the existing Rte 5 Power Station entrance. Road construction within the Project site will be completed to accommodate vehicle flow. The Facility will consist of a scale, truck dumper, moving floor sorters, wet milling line, drying island, intermediate storage, truck loading, two pellet boxes, and a bagging line. Approximately 90,000 tons of wood pellets per year will be produced and sold to customers in Vermont and surrounding states. Dry wood chips may also be sold to off takes such as other pellet mills, small-scale commercial wood heating systems, and other markets. The wood pellet production will require up to 5 employees, and will encompass an approximately 7-acre footprint on land adjacent to the existing Power Station..
