The Spec Desk

The Spec Desk is SpecIndex's data publication. Every story leads with the numbers from the index and cites them the way the product cites specs, and every article is free in full. The live data, project level detail and alerts sit behind sign in and the free brand check, never behind a reading wall.

GSA P100 Carbon Baselines Require Division 01 Proof Before Technical Review

Federal construction projects require Division 01 administrative submittal verification to enforce GSA P100 low embodied carbon standards. Technical material equivalence under the International Building Code fails without verified environmental documentation.

Federal civilian construction specifications require Division 01 administrative submittal proof to verify low embodied carbon compliance before engineering evaluation.

Being listed on a campus spec is not the same as being specified

We counted the education projects announced in the last 660 days and found three that name a college or university, and none of the three holds a document. The campus decisions we can verify sit in the document index, where one Texas job names a single basis of design product and one Utah job lists 184 approved manufacturers.
